I’ve backed the Clippers in nearly every matchup of this series—except for Game 6, where I leaned toward the Nuggets getting +6.5 on the road. That spread was simply too inflated for a closeout scenario. But now, with the series on the line and the odds essentially even in this win-or-go-home Game 7, I’m siding with Los Angeles once again.
From top to bottom, the Clippers bring more depth and a tactical edge, thanks in large part to Tyronn Lue’s playoff-tested coaching. That edge becomes even more important in tight elimination games. What really separates them, though, is their defense. In crunch-time situations, defense is often the deciding factor—and the Clippers have shown they can lock in. They wrapped up the regular season ranked third in defensive efficiency, surrendering just 107.9 points per 100 possessions.
In a game that’s likely to come down to execution and stops, I trust Los Angeles to deliver on both ends and find a way to outlast Denver on the road. Take LA Clippers ML
