The Edmonton Oilers have been on a tear lately, winning six of their last seven matchups. Their offensive firepower has been on full display, racking up 13 goals in their last three games on home ice. One of the big reasons for their recent success has been their efficiency on special teams. Edmonton has been converting on over 23 percent of their power play opportunities, a rate that's been pivotal in their offensive output.

On the other side, the Vegas Golden Knights have also been strong, taking four of their last six contests. However, their defensive lapses have been a glaring issue. Vegas ranks 26th in the league for penalty kills, which has been evident in their recent games, where they've surrendered 12 goals across their last three outings. That shaky defense will be put to the test against Edmonton’s red-hot offense, especially if the Oilers find themselves on the man advantage.

When it comes to offensive production, the Golden Knights haven't quite kept up with Edmonton's pace. They've managed 11 goals in their last three road games, which is solid, but not quite at the same explosive level. Interestingly, their power play has been a bright spot, converting at a rate of over 28 percent. Even so, it’s unlikely to be enough against an Oilers squad that's been locking things down defensively. Edmonton, ranked 16th in penalty kills, has only allowed 10 goals in their last three games. That level of defensive play is likely to frustrate Vegas and limit their scoring chances.

In this crucial matchup, I expect Edmonton's offensive momentum and power play efficiency to overpower a Golden Knights squad that's been shaky defensively. Combine that with the Oilers' improving defensive play, and it looks like Edmonton is primed to take control of this series with another statement win. Look for the Oilers to come out on top in a 4-2 victory, extending their winning ways and putting Vegas back on their heels. Take Edmonton ML
