Before the series began, I had Edmonton winning in seven, and while that call feels a bit shaky after Game 5, I’m not ready to jump ship just yet. Florida’s Sergei Bobrovsky has clearly outplayed Edmonton’s rotating netminders, and the Oilers still haven’t fully solved the Panthers' relentless offensive attack. That said, this is an Edmonton team that thrives when counted out. Connor McDavid finally found the back of the net in Game 5, and that could be the momentum shift he—and the Oilers—need. Expect the Oilers to zero in on containing Marchand while trying to ride the emotional high of their Game 4 comeback. Scoring first will be critical, easing the pressure and letting them dictate pace. They’ll need to unleash more pucks early and often. It might be stubbornness, but I still believe Edmonton can push this to seven—and maybe, just maybe, finish what they started.
