I'm not particularly thrilled about backing Texas at a -142 price with Kumar Rocker on the mound, but when comparing that to the idea of taking a slumping Los Angeles team at +125, the value just doesn’t seem strong enough on the underdog side either. The Angels have lost four of their last five games, and they’re trending in the wrong direction heading into this series finale. That said, I’m siding with Texas to complete the sweep and keep Los Angeles spiraling with another loss.
Both starting pitchers have been shaky this season, with ERAs sitting above 5.70, so we're not expecting a pitching duel here. However, Texas does have a slight edge based on matchup data. The Rangers have seen Jack Kochanowicz well, batting .306 with a .417 slugging percentage in 36 at-bats against him. Combine that with a struggling Angels bullpen that owns the second-worst ERA in the majors (6.11), and Texas should have plenty of scoring chances throughout the game. Look for the Rangers to take control offensively and finish the job at home. Take Texas ML
