Meanwhile, San Diego owns one of the top records in Major League Baseball, but their offense has completely stalled recently, getting shut out in two straight games and managing only two runs over their last three outings combined.
The Padres, despite the cold bats, are still an impressive 12-2 at home this season, a trend that can’t be ignored. They'll hand the ball to Dylan Cease, who, although his overall numbers don't look great on paper, has quietly put together two strong consecutive starts. Tampa Bay will counter with Ryan Pepiot, who has struggled out of the gate and hasn’t been able to find much consistency.
Even though San Diego’s offense is clearly slumping, the combination of their dominant home record and Cease’s recent form makes them the better side to trust here. I’m sticking with the Padres to get back on track. Take San Diego ML
