With those performances in mind, I’m backing St. John’s to complete the season sweep and take down Marquette once again on Friday.
One of the key factors here is fatigue. The Golden Eagles had to battle in a grueling game against Xavier on Thursday, barely escaping with a win. On the other hand, St. John’s had a much smoother path, cruising past Butler, which means they should be the fresher team heading into this quarterfinal showdown.
From a betting perspective, the Red Storm have been the far more reliable team against the spread (ATS) this season. St. John’s is 20-11-1 ATS, covering five of their last six games—including both matchups against Marquette this season. Meanwhile, Marquette has struggled at the window, going just 14-18 ATS and failing to cover seven of their last ten, including each of their past three.
